As you have probably already heard we have implemented a new supplemental Math program here at Muskoday First Nation Community School called ST Math.
Born out of neuroscience research at the University of California, Irvine, MIND’s unique approach accesses the brain’s innate “spatial-temporal” reasoning ability.
This ability, which lies at the core of innovative thinking and sophisticated problem-solving, allows the brain to hold visual, mental representations in short-term memory and to evolve them in both space and time, thinking multiple steps ahead.MIND’s approach consists of language-independent, animated representations of math concepts delivered via the Spatial-Temporal (ST) Math® software games.Ji Ji is the beloved penguin in the ST Math software games.Indicates that a student is stuck in the current level.To resolve, triple-click the bottom right corner, enter username & password, and use Teacher Mode to assist the student.Integrating with classroom instruction, ST Math incorporates the latest research in learning and the brain and promotes mastery-based learning and mathematical understanding.The ST Math software games use interactive, graphically-rich animations that visually represent mathematical concepts to improve conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.Before running this program, make sure your Adobe Flash is up-to- date on your computer.To install the latest version of Adobe Flash Play visit the Adobe site at 1)Computer Installation: Recommendations: Windows XP or Higher, 1 GB RAM and Latest Adobe Flash Player installed.
